The 250 meter high tower The Curve is located southern from the Central Park and is opposing the Trump Tower. Aim of the study was to develop an abstraction of a dress by the Dutch fashion designer Iris van Herpen into a facade. Throughout the process a dynamic skyscraper emerged.
The elliptical body is encapsulated by vertical elements that adjust to the building shell however release partly from the cladding. The tower offers different facilities depending on the alternating light situation.
The ground and lower floors are utilized as public areas while apartments and offices as well as restaurants and bars are established in the upper part. The inner construction is composed of concrete which is filled in with glass while the facade consists of aluminum panels.
